i'm looking @ getting new mac use music production. i'v been thinking getting macbook air (i wont using softsynths) have lightning fast ssd , amazing portability. docking @ home thunderbolt display sounds great idea, went best buy other day check out , had 13'' macbook pro hooked thunderbolt display , display quality pretty terrible. compared 27'' imac, display no near good. asked guy @ best buy why pixel quality wasnt good, , said had macbook, didn't have high enough pixel quality give thunderbolt display hd output. said have use 15'' retina macbook same quality of picture. wanted run guys make sure guy knew talking about. if case, why spend $1000 on display when can spend $1200 imac give quad core, graphics, etc etc. makes no sense ever. sort of thought refurbished price of $850 pretty solid, i'm thinking i'll pass , imac year or 2 down road when need more power/bigger screen. thought...
