i turned on ipad (original model, 3g 32 gig, purchased may 2010) , part of screen dark , or filled lines. no physical damage ipad or glass. seems replacement options 3rd party repair around $150. or send/take apple store charge $249 replacement: sense if ... a)... price of replacement might have gone down price has dropped on ipad 2. b) ...there's chance replace ipad 1 equivalent ipad 2. c) ...if there's cheaper replacement option through apple, perhaps under $99 battery exchange program. (the ipad has been used heavily not me, i've got no sense of how battery shot.) because ios 6 lackluster. sure new maps , facebook integration. i'm feeling apple's "features" half-way done, feel broken , never went way. updates them aren't continuous , apple seems enhance features each new ios release. multi-tasking - double pumping home button lame facetime - on cellular siri - needs way more work, , sports stats not work icloud - why can't use more dropbox document? photostream - interesting concept, still need iphoto in cloud , easier way share other networks without having open yet app itunes match - love service. use ipod "on go", bought 256k files crappy ones. seriously, no option sync explicit material? huge oversight , still hasn't been implemented. name few. apple, need open platform. i'm hoping trump cards ios 6 , new iphone being saved event in couple of months. please, better app interoperations too.   ...
