hey all, last weekend when came home imac pretty unresponsive. powered down , on , took quite while. still couldn't program start up. i'm thinking hard drive dying bought replacement , thermaltake docking station. know how replace drive , confident can it. hope use docking station access old hard drive , copy it's contents new hard drive. question is, once new hard drive in, what's best way contents on without trying boot old hard drive? figure use ccc have first install os on new hard drive?   assuming successful in copying contents old hd new 1 in docking station (using ccc), new drive bootable have swap drives , done!   Forums Macs Desktops iMac iPhone Mac OS & System ...

hey guys i've been lurking around site quite sometime , time purchase. i'm waiting til july 25th hoping there imac refresh, if not, i'll buying macbook pro now. i've been reading pro's , con's of latest mid 2012's rmbp lately , wanted know opinions comparing against non-retina mid 2012 , october 2011 17" looking . . . mid 2012 rmbp 2.7ghz + 512gb mid 2012 cmbp 2.7ghz configured 16gb ram, ssd, , moving hdd optibay oct 2011 cmbp 17" 2.5ghz or 2.4ghz configured 16gb ram, ssd, , moving hdd optibay 3 systems priced same. oct 2011 older bigger real estate screen (that's plus me). mid 2012's got spec bump , usb3. rmbp 1st generation seems hit or miss on quality build , don't wanna deal problems others experiencing. use photoshop , logic (with vst's). thinking putting windows on drive in optibay (to run possibly fl studio , other work). let me know opinions are, particularly if had experience 3....
