Hard drive replacement question

hey all,

last weekend when came home imac pretty unresponsive. powered down , on , took quite while. still couldn't program start up. i'm thinking hard drive dying bought replacement , thermaltake docking station. know how replace drive , confident can it. hope use docking station access old hard drive , copy it's contents new hard drive.

question is, once new hard drive in, what's best way contents on without trying boot old hard drive? figure use ccc have first install os on new hard drive?

 

assuming successful in copying contents old hd new 1 in docking station (using ccc), new drive bootable have swap drives , done!

ATV3 5.1 channel ?

no service after redsnow jailbreaking
