Logout dialog/ log out prompt

hi all,

wondering if me. run script when user selects log out apple drop down ask user if backed data before allows them log out. created script prompts , brings logout screen not know how run, or similar run, when select log out. obviously, not want run when user has logged out..

other option see work change message, "are sure want quit applications , log out now?" cannot figure out how do.

as user, shoot messed around mac on level. there excellent mechanisms in cocoa allow application save user's work either automatically or manually, or refuse quit, , works fine, trying achieve unfriendly user , totally unnecessary.
