Help: CD stuck in PowerBook G4


this has never happened before 8 year old powerbook g4.

i'm sure odd killers out there chuckling yourselves, of (graphic designers) need read client cds photos on... (and yes, aware mac piece of *****) soooo unprofessional of me. anyway...

working morning... i've read 5 different cds, had finder freeze. refreshed , relaunched itself, cd icon has vanished desktop , not eject. i've restarted twice, launched disk utility , seems well. drive data accessible.

ideas anyone?? :confused:

here's stuff try.

money's on terminal command, i've had fail on me in past too.

p.s. why powerbook pos? have 2 17" pbs (one older yours) , think way cool (or wouldn't here).

i'm graphic designer (i work newspaper). our work done on powerpc based macs (g5 , g4). powerbooks , powermacs still viable design work.
