Question about DNS zones

here's problem..

have internal webserver has external address. clients on internal network (the same webserver) can't access internal server using external address. got around in windows enviornment (there multiple buildings different environments) creating primary dns zone external address of server, , host pointing internal address.

i'm having trouble getting setup on lion server, , rather breaking dns again, figured i'd ask around first. said, tried adding new zone, , did broke dns. had manually edit configuration file remove new zone. fqdn different name of mac server.

mac server school.com, , need school.google.com point internally. these aren't real addresses, illustrates need accomplish.

make sense? possible lion server?

on server, see if have file called com.school.addstaticip.plist , move desktop, restart , check.

if not, i'd suggest using secondary ethernet connection static internal number.
