HELP! Trying to copy .jpg to flashdrive NOT from iphoto

have been working @ long time.

.jpeg files not in iphoto, in desktop , trying tidy , free memory while saving valuable pics.

used finder locate pics (.jpg). of pics on desktop, , iphoto, , documents. unnecessary space eaten them.

"selected all", , tried drag them memory stick, i've done in past docs, in groups or individually. not move. tried individual pics, no problem. in edit tab said "copy 10 items" have 9000 -mac has better that! (pics=3 gb,space available= 2gb, want take full advantage of)

so, created blank folder on desktop, , placed on left bar, easy drag.

till then. highlighted pics , tried drag (i believe finder getting list "documents", not desktop). did not work @ first, may have taken long time mac handle job. colorful wheel told me mac doing something, , voila! pics there. open folder, looks pics had.

try drag folder memory stick. circle bar across (forbidden) sign. surprised, go folder, time notice location, , "trash, folder". period.

going crazy this, because seem doing creating duplicates each action take :p case in point, on top of many of pics being on iphoto, had convinced me while ago picassa great because synchronized online (i thought online album, not fb, blogs, etc, don't want stuff on!). anyway, when opened see if image of screenshot there, copied absolutely every image computer. :p need these pics outta here before mac gives up!

want asap, , either send folder there, or dropbox, online picassa, or that. can't figure out how either.

please anyone?

i can't make sense of of message, appear trying copy 3gb photos 2gb drive, isn't going work.
