Best way to setup iTunes for a AppleTV/Mac+PC

first off, wish itunes provided more functionality shared libraries on network drive.

here household setup: 2 apple tvs, macbook pro, desktop pc, laptop pc, wireless n , wd book live 2tb network drive (ethernet connection only), iphones , ipod touch.

possible setups:

1. on network drive - complete itunes folder , itunes library file stored on network drive.
pro: every computer have same files, no conflict in adding new files.
con: 1 computer can running itunes @ time. must close 1 itunes before opening on computer.

2. media files on network drive, each computer own library file.
pro: run multiple itunes @ same time.
con: adding new file isn't recognized on computer. duplicates automatic itunes download purchases. having manually find/add files library added different computer.

3. desktop running time stored on network drive. each computer running separate itunes library , access via home sharing.
pro: easy maintain 1 library
con: must sync desktop computer itunes, laptop won't have files.

these options? ideally have files on network drive, every computer it's own itunes library. if music/videos added 1 computer, other computers update itunes show files next time it's started.

1 last concern: streaming movies on network. if apple tv accessing itunes on macbook pro (which reading network drive), there going huge bottleneck on wireless network. video transferred network drive -> ethernet -> router -> wirelessly laptop (itunes) -> wirelessly router -> wirelessly apple tv. 3 streams @ same time on wireless network. i'm assuming it's not smart enough go network drive via ethernet router wirelessly appletv (1 stream).

 

isn't sort of thing home sharing in itunes for?
