Late-2011 MacBook Pro vs. Mac Pro vs. iMac

first off, want mac user deals graphic-intesive, cpu-intensive tasks, such movie making, music producing, gaming/hardcore emulation/testing.

signature says (but less detail): have late-2011 15.4" macbook pro 2.2ghz quad-core i7 8gb ram , 500gb hybrid drive, amd radeon 6750m gpu.

now, i've been hitting 6750m hard, , pushing limits quite few powerful tasks, lately. on other hand, highest have ever hit in overall cpu usage under 35%, means core i7 able handle throw @ it.

have been thinking past few weeks, now. considering flipping mbp first 8-core mac pro + first 11" macbook air, since mp tower still seems faster mbp in benchmarking. considering going imac did decade ago, it's not upgradeable. disappointed @ mp's ram speed in comparison mbp, else blows mbp out water.

think should do? sorry long post.

being "tech guy" of house, brother has requested upgrade 4,1 mac pro. has: 2 x 2.26 quad-core xenons 12 gb ram 3 x geforce gt 120 4 x 2 tb hdd's in software raid 10 80 gb ssd in 1 of optical bays boot disk. uses computer video editing, in final cut pro x, he'll dabble in adobe suite. said wants more speed , needs less storage; i.e., doesn't need main drive more 2 tb. budget not issue here, future-proofing is: don't want have upgrade long time. ram upgrade simple enough, right? head on owc , grab 24 or 32 gb of whatever goes 4,1 generation mac pro. video cards know next nothing about. don't quite understand why he's got 3 of them for; monitor 30 in. cinema display. should upgrade video card(s)? maybe raedon 5770 or 5870? feel video editing isn't gpu-intensive, if is, please tell me so. now, fun part storage. figure best solution 4 new ssd's replace 12 tb ones, , stick ssds in raid 0. question is: n...
