Cache and speeding up my comp.

i have few questions white macbook don't understand.

1) in applications menu, if search "cache" folder bunch of files show labeled 00, 01, 02, etc. appear. can delete stuff? want try rid of useless data. (if click on 1 of numbered folders, leads me single files each)

2) if deleted program dragging trash , emptying it, assume wasn't 100% deleted. how find "left over" parts of file?
i'm curious, @ same time have norton virus app deleted long time ago still "scans" random times files.

3) suggest getting rid of "extra" useless data?

no, caches exist improve performance. general rule follow if don't know file/folder used for, don't delete it. true in system or library folders.
the effective method complete app removal manual deletion:

  5. be careful install software trusted, reputable sites. never install pirated software. if you're not sure app, ask in forum before installing.

  6. never let else have access install on mac.

  7. don't open files receive unknown or untrusted sources.

  8. for added security, make sure network, email, financial , other important passwords long , complex, including upper , lower case letters, numbers , special characters.

  9. always keep mac , application software updated. use software update mac software. other software, it's safer updates developer's site or menu item "check updates", rather installing notification window pops while you're surfing web.
that's need keep mac free of mac os x malware has ever been released wild. don't need 3rd party software keep mac secure.

you don't need worry "useless" data, unless it's useless user files you've created. having files stored on computer have no effect on performance. if it's more disk space want, you'll more impact moving user files external drive messing system files. if it's better performance you're looking for, may help:

being "tech guy" of house, brother has requested upgrade 4,1 mac pro. has: 2 x 2.26 quad-core xenons 12 gb ram 3 x geforce gt 120 4 x 2 tb hdd's in software raid 10 80 gb ssd in 1 of optical bays boot disk. uses computer video editing, in final cut pro x, he'll dabble in adobe suite. said wants more speed , needs less storage; i.e., doesn't need main drive more 2 tb. budget not issue here, future-proofing is: don't want have upgrade long time. ram upgrade simple enough, right? head on owc , grab 24 or 32 gb of whatever goes 4,1 generation mac pro. video cards know next nothing about. don't quite understand why he's got 3 of them for; monitor 30 in. cinema display. should upgrade video card(s)? maybe raedon 5770 or 5870? feel video editing isn't gpu-intensive, if is, please tell me so. now, fun part storage. figure best solution 4 new ssd's replace 12 tb ones, , stick ssds in raid 0. question is: n...
