so, had reload os x (10.7) using time machine backups.
went well, except folders i've restored not showing in finder. if drop terminal, , perform 'ls' can see folders there.
manually created subfolder in movies folder , shows in finder, difference in terminal. doing 'ls -al' shows following in movies folder:
drwxr-xr-x username staff manuallycreatedfolder
drwxr-xr-x@ username staff foldersrestored
shows username owner of folders restored, shows have read , execute user, have no clue @ @ end means , maybe that's reason why it's not displaying in finder?
oh, repaired permissions , didn't either.

update:
chflags -r nohidden *
command did trick. ran in movies folder , subfolders showed up.
