Do the 2010 MBAs have any advantages over the 2011 & 2012 models?

routine apps:
everyday use web surfing, office docs, guessing hard pressed find difference between core 2 duo equipped 2010 mbas 2011/2012 models.

video:
believe newer models better @ handling flash, hd videos, youtube , netflix. 2010 struggles bit here loud fan noise.

battery:
not sure battery life though. c2d machines consume less battery i3,i5,i7 models?

heat , noise:
2010 models have advantage here? 13" 2010 mba 4gb ram runs quite , doesn't generate heat @ during normal usage. video playback causes struggle some.

guys think? appreciate inputs owners of both older , newer mbas.

 

i have 2010 , 2011 (i5).

benefit can see 2010 gpu not intel hd gpu (which in 2011 , don't like). 2011 has better processor accounts that. ram speed faster.

more importantly 2010 has write speed (through linux boot cd test) of 192 mb/s (nvidia controller) while 2011 has 237mb/s (intel controller) , both 3 gbit link speeds. 2012 sata iii 6gbit 2010 though ssd slower both. can put owc sata iii full 6gbit speed drive in 2011, not 2010. see http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/ssd/owc/aura_pro_express

can watch hd graphics panasonic home video 1080p hd cam on 2011, not on 2010. both have 4gb ram.

importantly, 2010 doesn't have thunderbolt , 2011/12 does.

heat on 2010 v 2011? no difference. run smc fan control on both , both have same temp side side.

power consumption? can't pick difference. excellent usage out of both 2010 , 2011 , bought short either mba.

fan noise? no difference. both make minimal fan noise unless push processor. think 2010 may use more fan (technically) heat sink covers both cpu , gpu, while heat sink on 2011 covers cpu.

routine apps? you're right. there 0 difference in average running, although faster speed on ssd in 2011 model.

2010 has eject button (next power) super drive if ejecting cd's on regular basis. 2010 model allows ilife load idvd, while can't on 2011/12 (unless buy separate cd - not app). 2010 update via usb, while 2011/12 need internet dl os can take hours if in hurry.

pushing find advantage in 2010. sooooooooo minimal, , in many respects can disadvantages many users depending on how use mba.

having said alllllll that. note experience mine , users on forum outline posts of high fans noise, temps, heat etc etc etc across mba range. law of averages , spec sheets still 2011/12 better 2010 in respects.
