How does iMessage works on an iPad?

so im going first ipad , next week, , im thinking setting imessage account on it. me , dad shares accounts, disabled imessage on ipad. happen when activate imessage on ipad? assume messages no longer sent phone number (as phonebook contacts know me by), rather email. how friend email can message them ipad? plz explain! imsgs sync between iphone , ipad?

ATV3 5.1 channel ?

no service after redsnow jailbreaking
