From Soundtrack Pro to...? DAW recommendations?

i've been producing/hosting weekly podcast little on 6 years. of time i've been using soundtrack pro record, edit, , master. i've upgraded 20008 octo core 2012 hex core, , along motu traveler (the original version) rme fireface ucx, i'm thinking should switch stp better, newer daw, since apple seems have quietly deprecated stp no prospective replacement in sight.

go-to guy hardware suggests pro tools, i'm not entirely sure appropriate me. cubase, likewise, doesn't speak me, nor several of other usual suspects. i'm fiddling trial version of adobe audition, seems nice, can't things routinely stp (like adding ambient sound -- @ least, not automatically resizing ambient sound clip necessary, if understand i'm doing, may not case).

record @ 24/96, , may go higher ucx (this provides lots of headroom editing). need multitrack putting final podcast intro , exit comments, music bumpers, etc. , need export ability .mp3 format. otherwise it's relatively simple editing (i use izotope rx noise reductions) don't have need features of commercial programs.

i've tried audacity , don't it. used crash lot; maybe doesn't don't trust it, either.

experienced, maybe professional (?), audio people have ideas appropriate software? suggestions welcome , appreciated.

garageband want, or consider apple's logic.

reaper looks nice low-cost daw.

interface you're using sounds on top of sort of work do... 24/96 excessive podcast use - higher sampling rate makes no sense @ all.
