i know, know, stupidity knows no national boundaries, but, thought of canadian politicians little bit smarter.

rob ford cruised victory city mayor year-and-a-half ago pledging end dubbed "the war on car". argued bike lanes taking away space cars.

"and compare bike lanes swimming sharks. sooner or later you're going bitten," said ford speaking in 2010 toronto city council-member.

"and every year have dozens of people hit cars or trucks. well, no wonder: roads built buses, cars, , trucks, not people on bikes.

"my heart bleeds them when hear gets killed, it's own fault @ end of day."

think i'll skip toronto next time i'm in canada

 

this quite old, last quote. anyway.. rob ford dislikes seemingly impedes car driving. ford bit of red neck, imo.

rob ford doesn't work council, fights against them. highlighted council voted lrt lines instead of subway. council tried compromising.. have none of it. has no subway; compromise have resulted in subway extension.

mayor living in past when comes public transit / cycling. while cities around world building bike lines, ford trying remove them.

fear not, toronto still worth visit.
