Reformating the HD (is 7-pass zero out sufficient)?


hello. before give computer somebody, need reformat drive. under security options, 1 can choose 1-pass, 7-pass, 35-pass 0 out data. supposing technical apple wants access important data drive, person still able access data after made 7-pass 0 out formatting? know there people not concerned such security issue. want know if 7-pass sufficient make data non-retrievable. also, 0 out data many times cause damage drive? thanks.
