College questions - Starting at ASU this fall, kind of stuck

so, i've been discussing friends , family, opinions vary greatly, have decide on own.

basically, i'm torn between doing film major, , doing computer/programming major. love both fields equally, , reasonably in both, i've been advised many more helpful out of college have computer degree on film degree, due being considerably easier computer job out of college vs. film job. hoping major in sort of computer degree , minor in film, experience of both areas, , able film hobby computers supporting job, until able make profit out of film career.

however, i've been told doing computer major lot of work, , film minor doesn't allow hands on actual creation of films. film instructor recommended "digital cultures" major, told me combination of both film , computer, allowing me little bit of both more open-ended major. so, i'm not sure if right place ask, guys recommend do? should go major in digital cultures, or should major in computer related, , join student film group make films "unofficially" on side? i'm little concerned digital cultures major, i'm under impression it's new , employers @ , not impressed. seems 1 of modern open-ended "do whatever hell want" majors.

worth having going hard.

keep in mind, did engineering , biased towards using university (where pay thousands year go) way benefit career wise opposed strictly following interests (that electives hobbies far concerned).

however, view college way enrich ones self irregardless of finances. know sucks pay loans , friends did engineering/high demand majors have great jobs. of few know pursued theatre/photography either not using major , working @ best buy or working multiple jobs in field try , maintain decent wage. though observations far , keep in mind, may not true everycase (obviously)
