greetings macrumor community -
not versed in workings of iphone nor ios, , seek advise.
seems 1 day, gf's phone permanently lost wifi. suspects occurred after updated ios5. wifi grayed out - phone literally not see - (no mac addr in phone's about).
we've taken apple store, , willing provide refurbed replacement. sidestory: since phone on corporate plan, replacement phone not activated - genius made gf walk out of apple store unactivated phone (i browsing apple store till point). genius - oh, can take care of later, lets wipe old phone...just hit button here... long story short (it gets longer), stopped wiping , requested keep old phone till permission company activation.
anyways - decided may best see if can revive ourselves (since refurbed looked beatup...)
have recommendations on do? , can point me archive of previous ios versions? want try fresh ios4 install see happens (instead of restoring backup).
thanks!
sorry if sounds dumb question.. did check if it's problem router? did test iphone's wifi different routers?
these kinds of problems have many variables.. bad router, bad iphone wifi card... etc.
