the wall street journal reports apple has placed orders screens measuring "at least 4 inches diagonally" next-generation iphone, marking significant increase in size on displays used in every iphone model released date.
apple reportedly working lg, sharp, , japan display (the newly-merged display businesses of sony, hitachi, , toshiba) on new screen.

the wall street journal's report not specify aspect ratio larger display use, , other rumors have conflicted on whether apple maintain existing ratio or increase screen's height while keeping width consistent existing models.

update: reuters has filed own report making similar claims, although 1 of sources seems more firm screen measure 4 inches diagonally, opposed "at least 4 inches" reported the wall street journal.
