Ban on Galaxy Nexus U.S. Sales Upheld, Software Patch to Circumvent Forthcoming

last week, apple won preliminary injunction banning u.s. sales of samsung galaxy nexus, high-profile android phone lead device android 4.0 "ice cream sandwich" , given away attendees @ last week's google i/o conference show off forthcoming android 4.1 "jelly bean". ban followed similar injunction barring sales of galaxy tab 10.1 issued few days earlier.

samsung appealed both of injunctions in hopes of continuing sales of devices cases on android software features proceed through full trials. judge overseeing both cases rejected samsung's appeal in galaxy tab 10.1 case on weekend , today declined company's appeal in galaxy nexus case. allthingsd has more on developments:

u.s. district court judge lucy koh ruled there not sufficient evidence put ban on hold while samsung pursues appeal.

"although consumers may disappointed cannot purchase galaxy nexus, galaxy nexus, samsung has repeatedly insisted, not samsung's smartphone product on market," koh wrote in ruling.

glad apple won. glad google can write own code work-around satisfy courts. sounds win-win. apple's competitors need see can't rip boys cupertino off, shows little elbow grease, can results need competitive.
