Ipod 4G Passcode Problems

my niece forget passcode , has pictures , music on , doesnt want me restore it. have ifunbox , have tried can find in hack section here , followed directions cant find /var folder thats supposed hold files needs deleted. there im missing? there hidden files thats not showing up?? 4g touch 5.0.1

reset code without losing things appreciated
 


tell man , restore device other wise apple store best bet, , if it's nieces , prove everythings easy peasy.

ATV3 5.1 channel ?

no service after redsnow jailbreaking
