Questions about web programming native applications and MAMP Pro

for web programmers out there, how find using mamp pro?

also, guys think creating native application using web programming languages, along html5 , css3? thought because of phonegap service have discovered weeks ago. wanted have thoughts it.

mamp, xamp , derivatives have strong use case on windows there no native apache nor mysql.

on osx apache , php available out of box (on both desktop , server). mysql installs in few seconds. benefit of mamp in configuration, preconfigured. on other hand configuring apache , mysql no big deal, google , find plenty of information.
updating osx becomes interesting have native apache , mysql in parallel mamp-apache , mamp-mysql. need check twice if update compatible application. if stick native apps can check on apple discussion boards bugs found few days after update became available. give confidence migration planning.

mamp requires admin user no benefit. there pork-arounds using fast user switching still need juggle file , folder permission between www user , own user.

don't see need use mamp or similar on osx, ymmv.

have never used phone gap silent it. in general web based app have benefits , use cases. purely depends on needs , wants
