second ssd in optical drive 2011 Macbook pro under SL?

i'm confused i've heard low performance of ssd's in optical bays of 2011 macbook pro's (15 , 17 inches).

understand there 2 issues, 1 software , 1 hardware.

software issue got sorted out lion update - 1 know if got sorted snow leopard (which want use)?

second, there hardware issue make drive still obtain sataii speeds. i'm ok apart fact owc says (in quite old blog post) should use sata ii ssd in port. limits me 240gig because that's largest sataii ssd can find. i'd put crucial m4 512gig drive in it. got practical experience of this.

i've not bought computer yet (i'm going buy either on outlet store or second hand) either buy feb version or october version if either 1 of these better.

ATV3 5.1 channel ?

no service after redsnow jailbreaking
