What should I do?

my 3g ipod touch stopped working couple of days ago , i've been thinking of getting new ipod. kind of hoping 5g released september, i've read lot of things people saying won't update ipod touch, if won't big update, ipad mini replace ipod touch, etc. etc. also, that's still couple of months away if happen , don't know if wait long without one.

thinking of getting 4th generation, 1 of friends told me better off spending money on samsung galaxy player 5.0.

friend suggested buying used , reselling in september if new ipod touch come out, i'm not comfortable buying used (bad previous experience) , i'm not sure i'd want deal hassle of selling online (i tried selling ps2 online long time ago, , months , months in end, gave cousin).

i'm confused should do. opinions? should wait september, buy 4g, or buy galaxy player 5.0?
