Critique my first ever photo set


hi all

i'm not sure protocol here asking people critique photos, i'll ask anyways.

dad keen photographer, having photos etc featured in calendars, newsletters etc. i've decided i'd try photography hobby...after graduating last week dad bought me new canon powershot sx220 hs camera. trust judgement on me

1) have no knowledge on photographer other small basics learnt part of sport performance analysis assignment university

2) i've never had own camera

3) i'm starting out, i'm not in market real hi tech fancy cameras.

after brief 101 on basics of new camera dad, went off titanic belfast before sunset...unfortunately, problems meant missed sun set behind hills didn't take many pictures in in last few hours of sunshine.

know pictures aren't great, i'd love of guys take time, if want to, , critique 28 photos, maybe adding comments on pictures.

1 of problems had getting lighting right , image quality - after looking through them dad after, explained why quality doesn't great on of them , lighting. explained of set of pictures took , how better, , makes them ok, not great or good. told me go on 1 of forums , ask kindly people critique them beginning of new hobby :)

1 of few forums i'm member of, thought i'd ask guys.

processed photos using iphoto ... came macbook pro... want learn bit more photography before maybe purchasing aperture ... have summer free spend time on hobbies , 1 of things i'll working on.
