Not sure if Mac service centre replaced HD

hi,

have 17"mbp , hd starting fail. warranty 1 week out of date after speaking customer relations officer, apple agreed have problem fixed under warranty. anyway took laptop local authorized apple service centre , apparently 'replaced' hard drive. 'apparently' because im suspicious didn't swap hard drive. im sure ordered new part possibly kept themselves.

computer still working before can't tell without checking serial numbers. didn't give me old drive, have done in past when have had same problem.

anyway know if there way check original hd serial number? on box somewhere? can't seem see it... call apple in morning , im hoping have hd serial number of new 1 sent authorized service centre can confirm replacement.

if has insight add, grateful!

many thanks;-)

apple tell original s/n of original hdd if concerned, contact rep talked to arrange repair.
