hi guys,
may have posted on sometime ago on reading other similar threads on water damaged no charge issue wonder if possible mine not severe advice on , test if can help?
got mac book knowing water damaged (ex demo...overhead flood in shop) - did power on automatically mag connection...keyboard faulty (so power button) - replaced keyboard..reinstalled osx... fantastic... bought new battery didnt charge either.
have been using mac while on psu no problems @ all....even found fellow 17" mac owner charge battery via mac...just didnt lose time , wireless settings etc.
love have charging again , hoping maybe 1 fuse/resistor fuse has blown?
when opened mac found corrosion on various parts of board laptop closed , boxed after water damage....so battery have been live...and possible plugged in @ time if out on shop floor....so, since working apart charging....the battery feeding time , settings (pram?) not turn on battery..only mains?
go far getting smd rework station if worth it?
cheers.
first thing i'd open , thoroughly clean major components, in case, logic board. typical method of cleaning rubbing alcohol , toothbrush. i've had great success reviving dead or partially dead boards nothing cleaning.
