Storing only on my ipod.

i listen music on go , not ever on computer.
plan free space (a lot of space) on computer , load songs onto ipod classic , delete have in itunes, etc. (i never use it). know can individually add songs ipod dragging them in. (right?)
here question, of music 320kbps since i'm picky quality.
if throw on ipod, if 1 day want extract songs or whole library onto computer, still retain same quality?
dont want upload 320, try extract song , comes out @ 128kbps.

quality remain correct?

others more experienced me in this, planning use extract music ipod? far know (could wrong), itunes doesn't extract ipod, syncs ipod (unless purchased music itunes, 320kb/s, i'm guessing didn't). if you're manually grabbing files ipod_control folder, you're grabbing exact file untouched. if you're using third party software go through , extract songs in organized fashion, may depend on software's settings if want originals or compressed (although imagine default setting original).

also, few things. one, sure ipod set manually manage music before delete songs itunes, or else update ipod delete songs. secondly, don't think specified, 320kb/s mp3 format? if so, why not use lame's v0 setting? it's variable bitrate sounds identical 320kb/s save space, average bitrate ranging 260kb/s 280kb/s. thought.

, yes, can drag music ipod long it's set enable disk use , manually manage music. don't need song in itunes library; can drag outside itunes (folder) directly ipod.
