i switched firefox because chrome crashing time. installed flash , started using firefox , crashed again while watching video. don't believe chrome has problems besides flash built in browser. flash culprit. blame now? apple or adobe?
blame incompetent programmers... crapload of flash applications badly written , throw ton of runtime exceptions ( video players - youtube, vimeo, etc. name it... crap cause know nothing qa ). flash technology not bad, many people misuse , many have no idea how use ( starting juniors senior software engineers ).
beside programmers, it's firefox's / chrome's fault not being able handle exception without crashing every time ( such exceptions nothing new or unusual - badly written code fail, no matter technology / programming language used , if not handled, surely start crashing stuff )... safari example handles lot better: can 99% of time click dismiss button ( in case using debug version of flash player ) without resulting browser freeze / crash... if using non-debug version flash player, you'll never notice crashed ( , believe me, ton of websites / players / banners / etc. throw ton of runtime exceptions due horrible job done many programmers ).
i've stopped using firefox quite few years ago when started monkeying chrome , other browsers instead of keeping simple , fast... chrome decent, of course, nothing perfect , crashes annoyingly many times.
