Buying an iMac from the German Apple Store

we in military , moving on europe @ end of july. else, hoping refresh when new mac books came out , didn't work out. our next chance release of mountain lion time our stuff packed , shipped , apple can no longer ship apo addresses due recent changes in usps shipping rules.

leaves 2 options, first buy 2011 model , send our stuff. other buy 1 apple store in germany. i'm hoping there might folks can me couple questions. if walk apple store in germany , order imac machine same machine? being told can change language in os in english. mac's (this our first) have bios or boot menu might stuck in german if ever have use it? realize power plug have german plug on end , have replace cord when come states. other question sales tax around 19%. military member tax taxes away vat (value added tax) form. apple stores in germany accept vat forms?

most german stores take vat forms long employees understand going on. if buying store near american military installation should not issue. other solution buy imac px when there. not able customize not have language/us warranty issues. plus no tax @ px. when stationed in germany our px sold many imacs , not large px. hope helps. luck , have fun in deutschland -- not much!!

RAID in Early 2009 Mac Pro

being "tech guy" of house, brother has requested upgrade 4,1 mac pro. has: 2 x 2.26 quad-core xenons 12 gb ram 3 x geforce gt 120 4 x 2 tb hdd's in software raid 10 80 gb ssd in 1 of optical bays boot disk. uses computer video editing, in final cut pro x, he'll dabble in adobe suite. said wants more speed , needs less storage; i.e., doesn't need main drive more 2 tb. budget not issue here, future-proofing is: don't want have upgrade long time. ram upgrade simple enough, right? head on owc , grab 24 or 32 gb of whatever goes 4,1 generation mac pro. video cards know next nothing about. don't quite understand why he's got 3 of them for; monitor 30 in. cinema display. should upgrade video card(s)? maybe raedon 5770 or 5870? feel video editing isn't gpu-intensive, if is, please tell me so. now, fun part storage. figure best solution 4 new ssd's replace 12 tb ones, , stick ssds in raid 0. question is: n...
