Turning a Mac Pro G5 into a Media Server/Box

hey everyone,

came possession of mac pro dual g5s in it. has 512mb of ram upgrading 2gb @ least. possibly upgrade of video card ati 4350 hd.

anyways, looking turn baby media server/hub home entertainment system. wondering best route take software wise powerpc processor, should keep osx? should switch , install ubuntu on it? should go boxee? or xmbc? or plex?

wondering work best on system , guys recommend "noob" in media servers.

you've got powermac g5 not macpro, wont take ati 4350hd either.

aside osx going run no near fast, nor have same level of driver support. itunes , xbmc both work im sure theres few others well.
