Beginning OpenGL 3.0+ Programming (again) in OS X, targeting multiple platforms


if topic duplicate, i'm sorry, couldn't find information asking anywhere.

had started learning opengl, , had made simple game using opengl es 1.1 years ago ios. however, have abandoned in favor of other projects. last version of opengl checked out 2.1, , frankly, checked out without giving attention before abandoning full time ios employment.

now, want pick again. however, books have cover opengl 2.5 (red book), opengl es 2.0 (i hadn't have chance open it) , opengl shading language (i can't remember one, bought @ same time bought red book). have read opengl 3.0 , above changed dramatically rendering pipeline making programmable, , that's why dropped support older features, getting rid of obsolete , bloating functions.

have 2 computers os x 10.7.4, macbook geforce 9400m, , imac ati radeon hd 6750 mobility, both of believe in compliance opengl 3.0 (at least features).

giving information, here main questions:

  • are there start tutorials in opengl 3.0+?
  • are there start tutorials in opengl 3.0 + os x? find outdated tutorials fixed pipeline
  • are books have going me or need buy newest versions due shift in opengl pipeline?
  • is there have misunderstood or missing?

target os x, ios , android, therefore not interested in platform-specific resources , information. understand every platform has own implementation , extensions opengl api, wan platform-independent possible. not specifying language in question, since proficient in c/c++/objc , android opengl java implementation not different hear.

time not issue, nor mathematical/programming skills. , don't want learn how use wrappers/frameworks around opengl, before learn basics of opengl before learning abstract notions , frameworks around it.

thank in advance information , directions can give me regarding matter.
 

android uses opengl es ios, right?

regular mac os x uses opengl, not opengl es

have attached simple xcode project draws colored triangle, doesn't use framework sdl.
