hey all!
(long post, know. sorry, explaining entire situation helps getting more accurate answer.)
i'm in bit of predicament here. allow me explain situation, , possibilities i've been exploring.
(i refer retina macbook pro next generation macbook pro, ng mbp short.)
next year i'll going college, studying computer sciences, , decent laptop needed that. on top of that, need new computer personal use, since i'm stuck 2006 baseline macmini ram upgraded 2gb. it's getting pretty slow, , think it's time first real upgrade.
rumours , flying @ start of 2012, thought i'd hold out on buying macbook pro. had been aiming high-end 15" mbp model whenever updates came through. however, did not account next generation mbp.
want machine future-proof , can last me 6 years (or preferably more), trusty macmini has served me far. need stay averagely powerful, future standards.
ng mbp, in eyes, offers that. high-quality monitor (for sadly didn't include matte option), ssd storage, strong processor , gpu.
of know, baseline ng mbp costs as high-end 15" mbp. however, 256gb of non-bto-upgradable storage provides seem bit lacklustre me. i'd need upgrade 16gb of ram since feel big in keeping computer fast , snappy, after couple of years.
wouldn't problem normally, because i'd base model or cheap , upgrade myself. sadly, apple decided screw me on , integrate every component computer, can't upgraded user @ all. (at least not know of.)
i'd i'm stuck dishing out 3.1k euros can decent storage space , 16gb ram. however, i'm no expert, , haven't worked storage spaces larger 80gb (aside 500gb external drive filled brim, 30% of being stuff use every day).
it'd really, nice if tell me if i'm shooting bit high 512gb storage , 16gb ram. need that, or can last long default base-model? don't have particularly large amount of savings, , 3.1k euros huge amount of money.
don't plan on using special, doing quite bit of gaming once capable computer, , tend lot of experimenting graphics software adobe photoshop well.
thank help!

is correct? won't able upgrade ssd or ram in future?
in ideal world, i'd keep ssd add regular 7200 2.5 inch hdd additional, "slow access" storage.
