iPhoto freezes whenever I click "show more faces"

hello! i'm hasn't been asked before did quite lot of research.

short story is, everytime click "show more faces" in iphoto faces screen rainbow loading cursor , app freezes 10 seconds, problem wasn't present earlier, mac (2010 model, bought new in 2011) runs pretty smooth , keep clean 70gb free space , few programs running.

long story goes this: went through 10,000 photo library putting names faces on there , things went find way completion. didn't know tell iphoto "ignore" faces clicking "x" @ confirm faces screen, labelled them under fake name called xx. anyway, when done, wanted delete fake xx , have iphoto ignore all. deleted xx, , xx photos went faces screen (where i'd have name them/ignore them on again). set myself click little "x"s in corner make iphoto ignore these unwanted faces, everytime click show more faces (its 3 faces on screen @ 1 time), iphoto freezes 10 seconds , rainbow swirly wirly thing (where cursor turns rainbow coloured circle thing). 10 seconds isnt lot, when have 2100 faces go through (thats 700 pages 10 seconds). also, problem wasn't there when did other faces there's got something. i'm @ googling way through problems computers, couldn't find clues one. ideas?

update: i've tried rebuilding library. repairing library, thumbnails , other options when opt cmd open iphoto. change when click "show more faces" first time gives me new set of faces confirm, there on goes slow 10 second loading rainbow. if click on area "events" , "faces", again, first page turn quick, , rest have same loading problem. i'm confused!
