hi all,
have gotten new imac. here specs:
quad-core intel core i5
8gb 1333mhz ddr3 sdram - 2x4gb
500gb serial ata drive
amd radeonhd 6750m 512mb gddr5
tend game time time, playing starcraft2. not demanding game means.
have been playing starcraft2 on old 2008 core 2 duo mac book pro. running smc fan control on machine essential keeping temperatures @ decent level, gaming wise is.
know amd gpu runs cool far gpus concerned i'm not sure if need throttle maxed fans same way did on old mbp. haven't tested temperatures yet i'm not sure how high while gaming.
questions are:
1. should using smc same thing on new imac?
2. acceptable temp range gaming on computer?
3. should overly concerned temperatures getting high while gaming?
should add play games through osx , not bootcamp.
appreciated. thanks!
smcfancontrol not needed on imac.
imacs hot. normal. cpu alone reach 105c @ times. normal , within intell's limits.
there no need concerned imac's temperatures.
aluminum intell imacs have designed , on engineered cooling system. evident 3 fans spinning when machine under load. imac's aluminum body warm/hot touch, normal , design. body acts big passive heatsink remove heat inside.
