new TV!! LED or Plasma?

i playing video games, namely fifa.
watch sports bar @ top showing timer + logo.
use xbmc have static backgrounds , bars movies. use most.
can control light extent glare pisses me off.
watch 4:3 , watch movies black bars below. hate cropping.
watch anime subs time.
poofy's suggestions, 99% of time not using pc monitor! right mate, 42'' screen or whatever silly browsing.
weight not deciding factor move tv atleast 4x year.

budget £600-1000. can give stretch if means better product. i'm prepared wait few months if helps etc. want @ minimum think 40''-42'' screen, i've never had screen big.

biggest problem plasma after reading 130 page image retention threads cannot bothered buying tv , having baby it. current lcd i've kept on same desktop image 2 days straight. leave on pause 30 minutes, eat or cook , come back. have extensive 10 hour fifa tournaments friends. appreciate deeper blacks of plasma , better viewing angles. in love idea of getting 1 after reading around.. not me given circumstances , fact 'abuse' devices? cannot promise switching off tv , avoiding static images time. cannot promise not having 5 hour play through of video game have static images. hear lots of people saying live image retention, worth image, or pop in dvd , movie , swap around content watch don't have time! want bang it, watch or play want work/revision/working out.

can of led brigade point me in right direction quality led gaming , watching films blacks, low motion blur etc? there flaw in thought process here somewhere?

i'm not fan of plasma tv's @ eat electricity.

choice samsung led backlit. 8000 series nice! that's personal choice.
