Mid 2010 15" MBP + SSD + Lion Boot Freeze Issue

i have question have mid 2010 15" mbp has been working flawlessly on sl upgrade of 8gb crucial memory. started run out of space on standard 320gb , bday received enough amazon gift cards first seagate xt 750 had been eyeing @ time $143 shipped along downloading copy of lion in made bootable flash prior equipment change. did complete fresh install , blazing fast problem experienced if shut down & power off mac or restart mbp go input in password beachball , freeze there no problems if leave in sleep mode , power off. decided take in apple store after brief testing assume crucial memory rma crucial memory , received brand new replacement sticks of low density & problem still existed since prices of crucial m4 dropped & seagate tech support useless sent drive amazon 128gb crucial m4 received yesterday did install last night , same issue on fresh lion install freezing complete shutdown. have latest firmwire mbp 2,6.

did weeks worth of research not found true answer know if normal because of 2010's sata ii , newer ssd's sata iii. again if don't shut down don't have issue understand crucial has update of 00f , mine came 009 haven't seen lot of happy campers latest firmware update crucial.

question 1.
freezing , beach ball during shutdown/restart normal or there fix? on 2 separate ssd type drives.

question 2.
received 128gb m4 got $124 amazon along caddy drive replace superdrive future purchase of 1tb (samsung or western digital) hard drive since had money left on amazon account or should go m4 256gb since prices have dropped crazy send 128gb , use 320gb storage right i'm not sure doing because has sl setup parallels 6 can revert to. did not want blow drive until can figure out freezing issue on start resolved/or fixed in firmware update either apple or crucial. last option keep 128gb , order 1tb storage in second caddy drive? seen thread newegg dropped 256gb m4 $199 i'm sure amazon follow suit since it's @ $229.00 shipped right now.

fyi..well after numerous trips apple genius bar & them advising me possibly need main board replacement. tried samsung 830 ssd drive , beach balling lot less still got same results did additional forum research , leading sataii vs. sataiii issue version of mbp. kept reading samsung 470 128gb ssd answer issue. able find 1 on amazon $85 below http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/b008emjnmw/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00
after installing samsung 470 128gb ssd mbp has been incredibly fast , no reported issues beach balling. have ssd in main hdd bay , original 320gb hdd optibay , superdrive has been placed in external drive listed below:

after fixing dvd player via free hex software running great if having issue , want upgrade late 2010 mbp samsung 470 series if can still find them
