From Mac Pro to iMac with Sonnet ExpressCard/34 Thunderbolt Adapter?

i use 2008 mac pro 2.8ghz 8-core audio production , sound design , 1 of upcoming imacs purpose, instead of new mac pro. outside of system drive, have 3 x 1tb 7200rpm (wd caviar black) drives wish continue use. i'd put them in external chassis or 2 in jbod configuration (unless objectionable) , use them via esata or thunderbolt. there doesn't seem thunderbolt options available this, want know can esata, namely these drives through tempo sata pro , adapter, used without saturating esata connection or performance loss compared i'm using? enclosure thusly connected via esata, unless 1 of great ladies or gents can point me better solution. basically, need buy, short of pc or mythical mac pro update, work without performance loss , developing kind of post traumatic stress disorder?

plan go possible ssd option internal drive inside imac non of drives system drive. further reference, 1 drive recording pro tools , logic project, steaming custom sample libraries , last purely storage. former 2 need transferring data in tandem usually. i'd go far saying i'd content using storage drive via firewire, if had to. actual enclosures recommend purpose, preferably thems hold 2 4 drives? :)

note, i'm against modifying new imac letting owc or such add esata port unless assures me that route superior adapter , such. sorry if of has been discussed. tried reading through of charts of transfer rates , bandwidths let's face it, i'm no computer expert stretch , better off sticking audio. recommendations , advices , sincerely appreciated.
