Create a "Virtual memory card/camera" from folder?

is possible create virtual memory card folder's contents or external hard drive? in other words, make mac see folder or external hard drive memory card or attached camera.

use adobe's "photo downloader" (part of adobe bridge) importing photos camera memory card, occasionaly need import photos
occasionaly have images stored on other media want import (typically folder on hard drive or external hard drive) , "photo downloader" refuses access memory cards or attached cameras.

good question. i'd know fcp x love camera archive functionality.

making ram disk might work, i'll give go.

edit: awesome, worked. note need have correct folder structure , .plist files, if sd card. when did, fcp x threw sd card logo next ramdisk! fooled, how that!

anyway here's code used making ram disk:

diskutil erasevolume hfs+ "ramdisk" `hdiutil attach -nomount ram://10000000`

number 10,000,000, size in kb doubled. thankfully have luxury of lots of ram, since you're working photos, should able manage. if not, ram cheap.

time go run speed tests on it!
