Can I use a Seagate Goflex drive with standard SATA (internal) cables?

hi everyone,

here's question. i'm buy external seagate 3tb goflex usb 3.0 drive amazon. lot of people complaining disconnects , it's either drive's fault or fault of usb port. seagate says there's software update prevent spinning-down, knows if it's or physical connector issue. if problem usb adapter/circuitry use , not drive itself, may okay if used different way of connecting mac. (people usb port gets hot, may causing odd issue...)

thinking, can remove usb/sata goflex port, , use own sata usb 2.0 adapter have here (just in case). i've seen photos of bottom of goflex drive seagate usb/sata adapter removed, , looks standard female sata data/power ports. wondering if it's possible insert standard sata data , standard sata power cables it?

i'm not sure if has tried or if can test out. have fear goflex adapter may reach deeper inside enclosure standard sata data or power cable. (at least looks way in photos)

can test out? model i'm looking @ seems different previous ones, drive seems 1 slick rectangle.

thanks!
