MacBook Pro Retina + SuperDrive

greetings,

1.) have macbook air superdrive (mb397g/a) , thinking if knows if model compatible new rmbp or need new 1 (md564zm/a).
2.) don't want apple's superdrive, still have need sort of means read/write dvds , then, external dvdrw other companies (samsung, etc) job superdrive, or there problems identifying it?

sorry if question has been asked/answered before, tried searching no result...thank you.
 

as far brands drive, brand should work fine, may need usb extension cable because drives require 2 usb ports work, , on rmbo on opposite sides.

ATV3 5.1 channel ?
